Does someone know of a good way to crimp 45-60 cartridges so they won't recede into the case due to recoil when using smokeless powder?  I'm using cut down 45-70 cases and some Jamison, and have had the same problem with both.  I'd appreciate any help anyone could give me.  Thanks in advance.

I use a Lee Factory Crimp Die with 100% success for my 45-75. You may need to have one custom made, $25.00 a couple years ago.

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

I shoot .45-75 too, but I use a mold from Accurate Molds that incorporates a "hidden" crimp groove that holds the bullet in place without really showing. I'm sure he could make a similar design for your .45-60.  That, combined with adequate neck-sizing should hold them firm.
