I am working on a 2nd gen Colt SAA that I am having engraved and mildly gold inlayed.  I need to have some parts annealed prior to engraving.  after engraving, I need the frame color case hardened and the rest of the parts carbona blued.  Before folks chip in, I know that 2nd gen guns came from the factory with hot blue, but it's ugly and I am making a barbecue gun, not a restoration so I am going with the carbona blue.  The gun was in very poor shape when I got it (no finish, generally beat up, part of the trigger guard filed off, etc.) and it has taken some pretty serious work to make it all it can be.

So, I was looking at the RGS Restorations website and appears that they can do all the finishes I want.  The site tells customers to call to discuss the proposed work, which I have done multiple times, but no one has been answering the phone and there is no answering machine.  Has anyone used these guys, do they do good work, and are they still open?

If they fail to communicate, i would forget about them.

You might, but an email usually works.

It's a small shop and it 'is' the Holiday Season, after all...

And yes, they're still open.

RGS is Paul Lippold's shop, and they do a lot of Colt's special finishes - including the one put on Colt's initial 'WMK' M1911 WWI reproduction that was the Carbonia-finished one.

Email with your ideas then ask for a phone number and a good time to call.

I am gald to hear that they are open and do good work.  But, I cant send them an e-mail as they don't provide one on their contact page (at least not that I can find). I will try another call this week.

Thanks, but that is the website, not the E-mail address.  As I noted before, the E-mail address is not included on the contact page on their website (though the phone number, street address and even GPS coordinates are).

However, its a moot point.  I talked to them this morning and, though they are backed up they can get my gun in the cue to start the work I need done.
