My upper breech block has two screws holding the firing pin plate, one of which sheared off and I can get the remains out.  It looks like replacement blocks have one screw, not two.  Any thoughts on why mine has two and replacements have one?  Mine is an Armi Sport.

Dave

sorry Two Flints, thanks for holding my feet closer to the fire. :)

A photo would be great to see . . . not sure by your post if you CAN or CAN'T get the remaining part of the screw out.  Please clarify.

I ordered a replacement striker bar and screw.  As you can see, I've pretty much mangled the one screw, I'm going to try to drill it out and replace parts as needed.  I pulled out my original spencer last night and pulled the upper block of of it, I had replaced it in the past with a centerfire block.  That block will not fit, the shaft is too large in diameter to fit the cocking lever, and I realized that that block only has one screw and a different striker.

The replacement striker and screw I ordered will fit that one, so I'll throw them in my parts bin, but what I really need is to find a source for the striker bar and screws that will fit the upper block in the photo.

I pulled the block assembly to deep clean it after an event, and realized the mangled screw was sheared partially off.  I did the rest trying to extract it, very unsuccessfully.

Dave,

I sent an Email to my contact person at Armi Sports/Chiappa Firearms in Italy.  And this was her reply:

Please see enclosed our Spencer manual,  exploded view is at page 16 for cal. 56/50 model and yes we still have screws and plate.

Your friend can contact our office in Dayton and order parts there directly.

For parts please contact our sales/service department at 937-835-5000 from Monday through Friday during the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM Eastern

Thank you.  I realized that I had spoken with them before.  I've ordered the replacement parts, now to see if I can get an easy out to work.  Just in case, I ordered a few extra parts to have on hand.  But I cannot order a firing pin any longer.  I think I have a spare, but the fun thing is, I can order a whole upper block assembly that includes a firing pin, but not a firing pin.

When I was a kid (many years ago), I could buy .22 rifle ammo across the counter, but due to my age, was not allowed to buy .22 pistol ammo.  :)

Thanks Two Flints,

Dave

Well, it was the thought that counted, you got me there.  I downloaded the manual this time.
