I have been bumbling around South Dakota and Montana for the past two weeks following Lewis and Clark and visiting old Forts.  We stopped in at the Charlie Russell Museum in Great Falls.  This is a must see place for all fans/students of the American West and the American Indian.  They have an awesome collection of beadwork, and the use of the buffalo.

Have fun out there Joe.  California historian David Rickman is out there making his rounds as well.  Both of you are literally in the same place so you may cross paths.  Please post some pictures.  I have never been to that museum and would love to have a preview.

Safe travels friend.

Guns don't kill people; fathers with pretty daughters do.

It's been a loooong time (going on 55 years) since I "haunted" the C.M.R Museum in Great Falls. Went there whenever I wasn't on duty somewhere in the middle of his Judith Basin country.  I still have some of the prints I bought hanging on the wall in my basement rec room. I'll say this: Only God and Charlie Russell can paint a western sunset!  :) Have fun out there.  Oh, and if you see any small fenced areas with some sort of antennas sticking up inside, DO NOT go hanging on the fence or gate! You just might find yourself up against the fence with an M4 stuck up your nose...or other body parts!  :o  Applies from west of Choteau, east of Lewistown, south to near Harlowtown, and many places within the Judith Basin country!
Ride to the sound of the guns, but watch out for bushwhackers! Godspeed to all in harm's way in the defense of Freedom! God Bless America!

Unfortunately they do not allow you to take pictures.  But it is worth a half a day + visit.
