I checked on your Spencer Rifle serial # 6576 - found two Spencer Rifle serial #s very close to your # 6576.

Serial # 6571 & serial # 6582, both Spencer Rifles issued to Company B, 8th Indiana Volunteer Cavalry, but no day, month or year indicated for the issue.
