Hello:

Am trying to learn if any of us have encountered Spencers, either military or sporter, with a fly in the tumbler, please?

The Sharps locks often had flys and most Sharps lock internals fit Spencer locks.

Many thanks,

Kevin,

Within my experience, a fly on the tumbler is used when some form of set trigger (single or double stage triggers) has been adopted to the firearm. Sporting and/or target type rifles.
While both the original Sharps and Spencer internal lock parts may look to be the same... they do not often interchange with each other.
Some of the repro Sharps and Spencer made by the same manufactures may interchange??
My best,
