Gotta be a typo .... or ...... need new "readers"  ;D  The batch of 3000 I was able to procure are averaging .381 as cast.  I don't
run em thru a luber/sizer nor lube em.  With APP I just stuff em in the end of a 38-55 case and taper crimp just to eliminate the
tiny little amount of bell.

I'm thinkn' it's my readers.  Sorry about my faulty post.

My chart measurements indicate,
.370 inches = 9.398 mm.
.380 inches = 9.652 mm.
Hope this helps.

Just as a side note here, this bullet style looks like what we use to call a "Collar Button" design. Used in small caliber revolvers like S&W .32 and .38 shorts.

Thanks Blair,

So, from that it sounds like the bullet would be a good fit for Sir Charles rifle.  Could make a good little game getter.  Now, come to think on it, I have tried the EPP-36 in my 38-55 with pleasing results.  Nearly zero recoil and great accuracy within it's effective range.  I'm tempted to give it a go at Plainsman. . . . :)

DDD,
I first got the Wild Hair for a 38-55 shooting AP UG -36 when I got bit by the Plainsman Side Match bug.  Friend of mine got me to shoot
a four stage Plainsman with his 45-70 Handi Rifle.  I mentioned the recoil and next thing I knew, he was putting up "gallery loads" with
Round Ball and a bunch of filler.  I thought with the 38-55 case and the EPP projectile, filler would be superfluous, especially with
2f APP.

Proof of concept was a couple of weeks ago.  Stuffed some 38-55 cases with APP and stuck the EPP on top.  Worked like a charm.  Diddly
Squat for recoil.  A real dream to shoot.  Now, I've scored another Handi (drat, no ejector) but in 45 Colt.  Can you spell EPP UG - 45??
I figure the EPP in the 45 case should be 'bout zero recoil too.  2f APP and stick the EPP on top, should be another super Plainsman
rifle.  Don't have wipe out the Buffalo, just ring steel.  Easy Peasy

Yer rite Coffinmaker.  No need to kill the buffler, just ring his bell.  Here's another one. . . My Pard, Pukin' Dog, shoots the EPP-UG 45 in his Kimber for Wild Bunch matches.  Just enough FFFg black powder to cycle the slide.  It's a joy to see the reactions when he cuts loose with that slab sided brass sprinkler makin' smoke and flames.

And so, I shot another 15 rounds at 100 yards today.  I'm thinkn' the gun shoots this ammo pretty well.  All 15 rounds hit inside a 5" circle centered around the bullseye.  Possibly that's the limit of my vision.  We had good light and I was shooting off a rest.  There was some mirage off the barrel and I didn't clean till I got home, but I'm satisfied that I'll be hitting inside angle of buffalo out at 300 yards with that performance.  This gun seems to like the OI 1½ Fg powder.  I'll be running a double blind study with OE and Swiss.

Nice lube star on the muzzle.  A spritz of moosemilk and a tug of the boresnake was all it took to bring the bore back to very bright and shiny.

It sure feels good to pop some caps again.  Next up is the Remington Rolling Block 45-70 with the big 500 grain semi spitzer Big Lube® bullets.  I have a passle of them loaded up with both OE 1½Fg and Swiss 1½Fg.  It'll be interesting to see how they compare.
