Mr Pettifogger .. Sir  ;D
Couple of pictures would be nice.  My guns are not NIB.  Been shot, have had .45 ACP cylinders fitted, after-market springs.  Currently have Uberti hammers (CAS) legal, but the original Bisley type hammers are now legal too.

How about you e-mail me at coffinmaker@mac.com so we don't drift this thread into Outer Mongolia  :o :D

I called Cimarron today and they say the wait on their Dbl hammer coach gun is six months to a year.  That's too long.  So what is another reliable dbl hammer that can actually be found?

Thanks

Abilene

There are lots of the 1878's out there at distributors and dealers.  Contact Oklahoma Tom:

Guy on gunbroker has one for 425.00, never fired.  Has the 20" barrels.  Mine is the long barreled gun and oil finished stock.  Thinking about antiquing the metal some . . .

Did I see someone mention after market parts for the 1878?  Mine is sprung super tight and could sure use some lighter hammers. A couple of pictures of the de-fanged hammers might help with some ideas also. The last two Stoegers I purchased were of the new 'no shootem' left barl variety.  I am tired of paying good money for their junk and then selling them new for pennies on the dollar!

I just picked up this 26" Cimarron form OklaTom.

I have been following a couple of threads on the expensive Pedersolli hammer double from Cimarron and have had some owners tell me it is actually a better gun than the Pioneer was, any opinions on this.  When the cash outlay for new AND used guns rise above a thousand dollars, I really slow down and proceed with caution!!!  I am also thinking , after watching the Pioneer videos, that some of the few guns they produced were pre-cowboy and much stiffer than the last few??  Anyone heard any ideas on how long the military contract will keep them away from Pioneer project?

  Howdy,
My experience with the TTN has not been so good as the others. The slop and wobble after moderate use became what I feel to be unsafe. The rear trigger would bite/sting my finger when shooting. It took a lot of polishing and reworking to get the sting out of it. I changed to a Pedersoli and have been very pleased with it. I got to thinking of the price of my Uberti rifles and the Pedersoli fit in with them. It cost $1200.  I do have a Pioneer and it is nice. I treat it like my U.S.F.A. SAA's with care.
