A non bp shooter at my local gun club has some 32-20 brass that he has pulled the bullets from.  I don't know how many yet.  He says there is black powder in many, all are primed.  I realize that this should be in the classified forum and will put it there as soon as I have the brass and am able to evaluate it.

My gunsmith gave me 2 boxes of 32-20 reloads that a customer wanted to get rid of ...
* 196 reloads with jacket bullets that clocked 1570 fps - so I pulled the bullets on those because they are too fast for my original RRB #2
* 149 reloads with Pb bullets that clocked 1096 fps  - Perfect  ;D
Everybody should have a great smith like mine!

Funny how things work. I had 32-20 years ago. Traded the guns off but kept the ammo and loading stuff. Friend of mine got his wife a Marlin to get her into lever gun silloutte. He couldn't find brass, so I sent him a couple of boxes of what I had...
Then just not long ago I stumbled into a heck of a deal on a Ubertim73  :o Fortunately I still had the few loaded rounds I couldn't mail to my friend along with 50 brand new primed WW cases... Still had to order some starline, but at least I had something to load and shoot in the interim. ;D

It can be hard to find at times. I looked and waited for quite a while to get some a couple years ago and Starline finally made another run of it and I was on the list. Now they show it in stock along with a lot of other calibers they have been out of. Wonder if this is a sign Starline is finally getting caught up with production.

I do think things were starting to get caught up, but I'm afraid they'll go the other way with recent developments.. >:(

I don't have the count yet, but I'd be happy to trade it for Cowboy 45 Special brass.

Yeah I was thinking that. I'm pretty good on brass right now but I've wondered if now wouldn't be a good time to stock up on some extra while they showed various calibers in stock.

Turns out the brass is 32-40.  Sorry about that.

Dick, WRA headstamp brass is collectible - might want to save them

Thanks JB,

That and the fairly rare caliber could combine to make something someone would want for their collection.  I have no way of dating the manufacture, but it was all factory loaded ammo that had the bullets pulled.  The powder was some ball and some flakes with holes in the middle.  All has the factory primers still.

I would have never pulled the bullets. It would have been way more collectible if it was still unfired factory ammo in the original box. Now its just old brass with the WRA headstamp. Still worth saving but nothing like the value if it was still assembled.

Cliff - Dick didn't pull the bullets and the guy that did, didn't have a clue about collectible value

Dick, Question?  Does the head stamps say WRA or WRA Co?
And close approximate age of the cases can be identified by the primers ...

Here's an era indicator of WRA or WRA Co stuff from Bridgeport, CT ...
By 1931, Winchester was in bankrupt cy and no longer producing tools. Subsequent mergers and partnerships changed the name and look of the Winchester logo. It was Winchester - Western for a while, starting in 1931 and today, Winchester is produced and marketed by the Olin Corporation.

I know dick didn't pull them, wasn't meaning to imply that he did.

I was just saying I wouldn't have. It's a shame someone didn't realize what they were doing.

Dick, do you think the person you got them from might have the box? Those are somewhat collectible.

No box.  They came as loose ammo.  The bullets were jacketed.  There were only two that were still loaded but the bullets were mangled.  I pulled them myself with a Frankfort hammer puller.  They were pretty well messed up.  The brass is head stamped 32-40, not 32-20 as I stated above.  I have another post on this brass on this wire.  They were both loaded with some kind of smokeless powder.  One flake with a hole in the middle and the other with ball powder.  Both were around 12 grains.  There are 22 pieces and appear to be new.  Very clean and shiny inside.
