Why? They are not a true copy as well as most were pure unmitigated junk. More trouble than they were/are worth. Buy an Uberti Type II. Far better gun.  ;)

Thanks Fox Creek, I think the ASMs except for the non rebated cylinders were and are as close to the orginals in size and shape as you will find, except for the ones  the three or so gunmiths that are making them now from Colt 1860 Blackpowder guns, which are beautiful, and wish I could afford. I have 2 Uberti type II and 6 other Uberti Conversions, and they are great revolvers, but a little oversized.  Iam a retired dealer and used to sell ASM from Cimarron, Navy Arms and Traditions and know about the quality of workmanship on some of the guns, and no parts no longer being made for the ASMs. I did have two come back from customers. I wish I had kept a few when I was selling them. I will be leaving all my revolvers and guns to my Grandsons, and would just like to have one more as I have three that are in excellent shape and need one more to leave to my Grandsons, and they know about the weaknese of the guns.
Thanks for the reply Fox Creek,

I'm on the lookout for one or two as well. With the full knowledge that they 'may' have issues.

I like the issues mine have never had........... ::)
Although one did have a poor solder joint holding the Ejector Housing to the Mounting stud (bought it that way and then fixed it).

But then again I have a revolver fetish..........
