I don't understand what I'm doing wrong

I am not having any of the problems I had that last time I fiddled with percussion revolvers. Back then I had constant hangfires and failures to ignite, where the cap popped but did not light the powder. By the time I finished a cylinder, there would be so much crud and grit it would barely turn. One time I wasn't able to clean until the next day, and when I did the bore looked like the inside of an old waterpipe. And the last time I fired my 1860, all six balls got stuck in the forcing cone, so that I had to pull the wedge and remove the barrel, ram the ball out and reassemble. Six times in a row.

I am not having any of those issues now. I fired this gun three days in a row and when I finally cleaned it, the bore was spotless. I don't know what I'm doing differently but I am much happier today than I was back then.

Obviously, you have done something right.  :P  Totally unacceptable.  Go back and do it again.  Screw it up right this time.  ;D

You have obviously reached the END of the INTERNET.  Go back and start OVER  :o

Tiz some kind of fun when a plan comes together.  Once one learns the little nuances and fickleness of Cap Guns, they can be incredibly FUN!!  So much so they will create an ADDICTION!!  :o  The only cure for this addiction is to acquire more Cap Guns.  And Caps!!  Yessss!!

Remember, you gotta have real BALLS to play wid Cap Guns!!   8)
