Hi all - looking for a hammer assembly for my spur trigger 38 1st model. Anybody have one out there? Also, I need hammer, sideplate, and trigger spring cover screws.

Any leads sorely appreciated!

Does anybody know if there is any parts interchangibility between some Hopkins Allen and MH models?

Unfortunately, M-H spare parts are deep inside other folks' M-H revolvers - there haven't been available parts for decades.

Your best bet will be the gun shows and the dealers in 'old' parts.

Getting them to put your wants onto a card and convincing them that you're serious - plus checking back regularly (but not so often to be a pest) - might pay off.

Might not, too.

The guys collecting Merwin, Hulberts started picking up spares about 35 years ago.

Good suggestion - I'll try the gun show guys too. Never hurts to ask!

tommy,

One other suggestion I would like to make,
take the revolver with you when you are searching for parts.
This way you can check to see if the parts are for the size MH &Co revolver you have.
It may help save you from buying parts that can't or wont fit.

OK great advice...... I am also going to see if I can make some screws at machine shop class - sounds like a neat "project"

No luck so far on any parts; I'll have to go the gun show route. To that end, I made a firing pin from 3/32 drill rod and put it in the hammer ala Colt. Peened the hand to correct the timing, and made a new hand spring. Voila!

Next project, please?
