Last week I picked up a Pedersoli '59 Sharps and a Euroarms Cook and Brother musketoon. Need suggestions for a sutler where I can get my hands on musket caps, .544s for the Sharps and .577 minies for the C&B. many thanks.

hhughh,

Track of The Wolf is one of the best to check with for muzzle loading and black powder supplies.  They do carry projectiles in .544 and .577.  Usually they have musket caps too.  Fall Creek Sutlery, Blockade Runner Sutlery, James River Sutlers, Coon River Sutler,  S and S Firearms, C and C Sutlery; all these mentioned sell reproduction firearms and sometimes carry musket caps.

I get my 4 winged caps from the cav unit of which I belong.  Do check Civil War reenactments as many sutlers which I mentioned and some which I did not attend these events and bring along caps and will order bullets to be sent to your home.

Can check Cabelas, Gander Mountain, Bass pro, etc too.

Make certain they do not pass off the  "for re-enactment" caps on you!
they have less less primer material and oft' do not make it through the convoluted Sharps breechblock  :-(

Professor Marvel,
Good point!!  Even we that do the reenactments stay away from them.  The Pedersoli can be made to fire first time all of the time with a simple smith trick.  I'll not post that here, but pm me and I'll pass on the info.
