This morning I had the pleasure of shooting at Hay Hollow range.  Hurled some lead down range.  My 38-55 Winchester Legendary Frontiersman did me proud, for a change.  I finally got some respectable 200 yard groups.  My ammo is fine but my eyes ain't what they used to be.  Then I took my Remington Rolling Block 45-70 and turned in some respectable groups.  I'll be refining them some, but they will ring the gongs at Squinty Eye.

All in all, it was a good shoot in ideal weather with a good pardner.  One Pukin' Dog.  Great friend and good shooting pardner.

Ain't it fun when a plan comes together. . . .

Ah My Dear Monsieur  Dastardly -
if at all possible (assuming they are available) do please post some pics!
I relish the online participation and photos of other's firelocks and accoutrements.
It allows to me participate "vicariously"  esp as I myself have only been able to hurl
wax bullets and hotglue bullets down-yard as of late ( due to circumstances beyond my control)  .

I am with you DD, because last Saturday at the Darby Rough Regulators match I shot...get this... Cody Dixon Single shot Percussion using my .54 caliber Robinson Arms Richmond Va. 1862 replica with the Hahn Machine Works conversion.

Launched 24 rounds (350 grain) down range with the Sharps, and, 40 rounds of .36 round ball with my 1861Navy Uberti replicas. Along with half a box of roll crimp 12 gauge hand loads it was smoky. All loaded with DuPont's best (actually GOEX ) of course. A good percentage of the Sharps rounds were hits and the same with the revolvers. This was the first time I shot percussion revolvers and still have some kinks to work out. The Sharps never missed a beat and is great fun to shoot.

It was a 5 stage match but the heat got to me and I skipped the last stage. We did lay down some smoke along with Abilene and Major Artie Fly (thanks for the help Artie).

Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag

We who shoot the One True Powder are preserving the art.  My brace of 1860 open tops did me proud today.  One miss short of a clean match.  I was the only one on our posse shooting Genuine Powder.  Lots of grins and gags.  Had a hot time.
