I was at the range today with an Uberti 1860 Henry Rifle repro. Here's a little taste.

Yup, my loads, 35 grains of 2Fg under a 200-grain Mav Dutchman bullet

Looks like it'd be a blast to shoot. I was originally iffy on 1860 Henry rifles, but now they're beginning to grow on me a lot.

Nice teaser, can't wait for the full Video.

44WCF or 45 colt ?

Not being critical here, but why are you lowering the rifle from your shoulder to rack the lever? It's much easier to press back with your left hand to keep the shoulder "weld" while racking it and fight the urge to raise your head.   ;)

That's the caliber the Mav Dutchman was designed for.  It also works well in 44 ELR (Magnum) and 44 Spl.  I shoot it out of a brace of original RVs chambered for 44 ELR. (Extra Long Russian). Also out of my Browning 92 in the same caliber.  Runs great all day long and the next day if need be.

Fine photos of the venerable Henry design.  Personally, I never liked 'em because my left hand got too hot. . . :-)
