Rear sight notch on Cim Model P prewar

I thought that all model P's had a V notch but I saw a new Model P prewar and the rear sight was a square notch.

Plus it did not have the gold medallion in the grips as the website indicates as only for the prewar.

Are these new, new changes?

The Pre-Wars have had squared sights for some time, with the V-notch only on the Old Models.  While most of the Pre-War Model P's do have the grip medallion for the past few years, they import a certain number of them without the medallion, mostly .45 Colt caliber.
