With profound sadness, I have to inform our NCOWS family that Steve "Hoss Jack" Jackson passed away today.  Hoss was a founding member and Deputy Marshall of the Berger Sharpshooters.  He was our Posse Representative to the NCOWS Congress. Many of you no doubt met with Hoss at the annual convention and national shoot as he was a faithful attendee at both.

Hoss was a generous, gracious and Christian gentleman.  His passing leaves a hole that can never be filled.  Via con Dios, my friend.

Cole:

Very, very sorry to hear this sad news.

Both personally and on behalf of the entire NCOWS family, I want to extend our deepest sympathies to his family and friends. He will indeed be missed.

He and his are in our thoughts and prayers.

Steve was on of the best people I have ever known.  I have been sitting with tears running down my cheeks every since Cole called me this afternoon.   He is the soul of the Berger Sharpshooters.  I am going to miss him a lot.
Steve may God bless your soul on your trip to the Pearly Gates.  I hope Saint Peter has a good horse saddled and waiting for you.

I can't believe this.  He was always so nice to Denise and me.  He was so helpful to Denver last year.  He is the one who named him Floozey Jack.  Denver was saying today that he was looking forward to seeing him at the nationals. God bless his soul and our prayers are with his family.  We have lost a treasure that can't be replaced.

Though we had only really gotten to know him since we started going to the Berger Memorial and shooting on the "Jack" posse at last years Nationals I could tell he was one to ride the river with. He will be missed.

I am so saddened at the loss of such a good friend. I still don't have enough words. Steve was a gentleman of the first order. He will be sorely missed. Love to his wife Bonnie and a large family that loves him.  I will see you in that final roundup, my friend.

Thoughts and prayers go to the family and friends. I never had the pleasure of meeting this cowboy, but he was a part of the cowboy/girl family so he had to be a good guy. God bless.

I'm so glad that I got to know Hoss and yes, he was one to ride the river with!
Prayers for Bonnie and all of his family.

I am still weepy over the loss of such a fine man. I have trouble sleeping still, Cole. But Bonnie said it all tonight when she told me she was going to the Nationals, and if she didn't, Steve would come down and haunt her. Steve was a man that I suspect never knew how many people he had a positive impact on or how many really loved him.
