I posted this  before, but I don't think that I was specific enough.  I'm looking at what the dealer called an Ainsworth .It' in the antique finish, ser #666x'  NIB. There is no end label on the box   .  By the way is this common? I've looked at 5 USFA guns recently, and none have an end label . Anyway , what  I need to know is how to differentiate between a Custer and the Ainsworth that both have the antique finish. The dealer also has a NIB Rodeo 45 5.5 and I can get both  for about $2k, which seems reasonable , but  I kind of want to know what I'm buying. It seems to me that there is  more of an overlap of models than any other brand that I've ever seen.
Thanks again.

Mark,
Rightly or wrongly, any Ainsworth in an antique finish was called a Custer.  An Ainsworth in colorcase and blue were referred to as an Ainsworth.  It's not odd to have a box without a label.  They didn't stick to well.  The boxes were covered in a black textured material with a dark green interior.  There maybe 50 boxes out there with the same exterior but with a dark gray interior.  This info refers to boxes from about 2002 (?) on

Thanks for the replies, I don't think that the dealer is trying to be deceiving , I think that their is just a lack of knowledge on their part, we can't be experts on everything. I think part of my confusion cones from the Blue book , the way that it  states both models in both finishes . I just want to be sure  of what I'm buying. Again thanks for your help
