Hi, Folks:

I just posted this over on the Colt Forum and I thought I would post a thread here
to make sure as many people who are interested might see it.

As I mentioned, I am thoroughly impressed with a lot of the experience
here and am very grateful for having come across this site. Since I can't hope to match
the backgrounds of many, I thought I would share in a different way. I came across a copy of
Colt Dragoon Pistols (James E. Severn and Carl Metzger; C. 1946) which the reference librarian has
told me is the only copy he was able to find in the US. This one is from the Western Wyoming
Community College and I have just scanned all 55 pages into my computer for future reference.
The file is 25.2 MB and is loaded as 56 JPEG. I have cleaned up a lot of the stains and such with
Photoshop and used the "enhance" to sharpen-up the print. There are a lot of great photos and
I think people who are interested in BP generally, and Dragoons in particular will find it a nice read.

Let me say clearly that I would really appreciate your NOT trying to compensate me as that might
cause some problems with copyright infringement. This is just my way of letting folks know how much I
appreciate all of the help and support I have gotten as I have begun my new hobby.

If you are interested in a copy, just PM me with your email address and we'll see if I can get a copy
to you as an attachment by return email.

Best Wishes,

Bruce

That sounds interesting since it'scoming from so long ago. I'd like to see it but alas my puter is not too good and e-mail unreliable. I'd never get that to work probably. Puter too frail. I can't get U-Tube to come up or anything.

Is there any reference to loading practices?

Hi, Folks:

Just a quick update.....

There has been a lot of interest in the booklet, and between yesterday and today I have sent out copies to everyone who
sent me a PM with an email address. So far there has only been one catch. I am limited to no more than 50 files ("attachments" )
per email so I had to breakdown the files into two bundles. Each person should have gotten one email with pgs 1-28 and a second
email with pgs 29-56. There is also a chance that an attachment could fall off in transmission. If you received only one email, forgot to give me
an address in your PM or are missing any of the files (pages), just let me. Its not a problem.

@Rifle: Nothing says I can't print you a copy and send it out the old fashion way. Think about it and if you want a copy by snail-mail just pass along an address for snail-mail by PM...... oh..... I don't remember anything about loading, but thats not to say that there isn't anything. Wouldn't be surprised to find out that I had missed much in my first read-through......

Thanks Bruce; Now I have to be on the lookout for a Dragoon.  And a Walker. And a Patterson.  Then I'll have a repro of all the major models.

Blasphemy!  I REALLY want a repro of the Remington Belt Pistol. 8)

Then again, I may be dreaming ??? ;)
