DIY cylinder baae pins for Uberti Cattleman

I wasn't happy with the two notch safety cylinder pins on our Uberti Cattleman revolvers.   So I made new ones - kind of a poor man's copy of the Keith #5.I use 1/4" drill rod and brass thumb nuts.



Here is the pin installed.

That for sure would be a quick and easy way to eliminate the awful Uberti safety feature. But it would still be hard to grab and pull.  Also, I'm thinking the single latch bolt notch will prevent the possibility of the pin jumping.  The idea of a fixed pin is that it does not rotate and wear the frame. Besides, I'd been done in 10 minutes and looking for something else to do.
