Campbell may have it if you call, I just ordered two spools of Barbours natural 5 cord left twist yesterday, they said they had it in stock but I haven't received it yet so we'll see.

I've also used the less expensive they sell and it works fine.

They are still working on their website so it may show them being out.

Try here for Barbours which is now made by Coats of England

Select left or right first then the number of cords selection comes up - for hand sewing left or right doesn't matter - I tried there cart and didn't get a price so try calling - they are in Memphis

and this place has some excellent pre-waxed French made linen thread - it's sized differently than the Barbour's so call them and they can tell you the right weight - it's pricier but from feed back I've gotten it's good stuff

BTW - I've gone to using mostly four cord - it's plenty strong/heavy for holsters at 6-8 SPI yet light enough for bags and clothing...

and Royalwood sells prewaxed linen thread as well - some even made in America

Great links, Chuck. I know where to get my next thread. Thanks for posting them.

Ya'll are welcome - one of the problems in finding Barbour's Red Hand is that from my understanding it is all older stock made prior to Coats taking over and that stock has sadly been depleted. At this point I'll probably go to the French stuff when I run out.

Another option is silk thread - I've been using some old silk thread used for wrapping bamboo fishing poles and it's great although the stuff I have is a bit too fine for gun rigs, but apparently heavier weights are available....silk is in fact the strongest of all natural threads other than spider silk. Still another option is hemp thread - you can generally get it from beading outlets in 20 and 40 pound break strength - I tried the stuff from Wally World but wasn't real impressed, but have talked to others about it and they say there are better sources.
