Fur hat

Greetings,

I'm looking to acquire a fur hat for winter time activities; to include shooting my local CAS matches.  We shoot all year round here on Delmarva and it can get quite chilly in the mornings in the winter.  Do any of my comrades know of a good place to find one reasonably priced?  I've found a gentleman in Pennsylvania that makes them and sells them on ebay for a fair price, but I always like to ask here for good advice.

Are you looking for a fur hat (like in a coon skin hat) or a fur felt hat (like in a wide brimmed Stetson)?
A knit cap maybe an additional alternative to the two other suggestions?

If yes, I have source, but off the top of my head I pulling blank  

I want to say Great War Militaria    ....  let me think on this one .... I even have one around here somewhere , course we need them so bad in Florida

My apologies;  I should've been clear in my description.   I am looking for a mountain man-trapper-Davey Crockett type hat.  It can be coyote,  fox etc.  No tail, just the hat.

Actualy, the mountie style undyed muskrat fur one from the above site is pretty much standard US Army winter issue for the last 25 years of the 19th century.  Lots of pictures of Miles 5th infantry wearing these during the winter of 76/77.

I've got a book with the pattern for an authentic fur hat if you want to have one made.  Let me know if you want a copy of it.  I've thought of having one made myself.

I have 3 fur hats actually. The first is a mountain man style coonskin that I made back in the '80's when I was doing buckskinning. Then I got an original 1890's to early 1900's army issue seal cap. It's the one in the pictures Delmonico posted. I don't wear it much any more for fear of damaging it. I got it off E-bay. Then I also have a modern made muskrat cap I got off e-bay. It's pictured below in a photo from Guns Garrett. What I really want is a reproduction of the 1870's army issue muskrat , but so far haven't found one that I could afford. At the site in Major2's first link the muskrat jockey hat is fairly close, but a little out of my price range.

We need to get a muskrat hat, maybe with some odd smells to it for John to wear when he shoots his Vetterli, and make him leave his fly unbuttoned.
