Got this from an auction, it's in new condition, harness is tolerable but the holster is stiff as a board. Should I leave it alone? Planning on wrapping the gun with saran wrap, then inserting it and leaving it overnight. Should I use silicone on the inside or leave it alone?

What else am I forgetting?  ???

If the gun fits but is tight then putting it in a ziploc freezer bag inserting the gun and freezer bag in to the holster and  leaving it over night should give a good fit. If you feel it needs conditioning I use skidmores cream for a conditioner. As to softening the holster why do you want a soft holster?

I was thinking of a conditioner but will only use it as a protectant of sorts, got some Fiebings 4-way conditoner but was considering Olive Oil too. You're right about keeping the holster stiff, how about the harness setup?

If the harness is stiff and uncomfortable you can soften it up olive oil or neats foot oil. Or a conditioner. I have take very old and dried out leather and had good luck revitalizing it with the skidmores. I have not used the fiebings 4-way. One thing about oiling don't over do it or you will end up with oil on your clothing when you wear it.

I've used EVOO, much prefer Skidmores leather conditioner & their wood product, I've use it as a final finish and swear by the product.
