Sorry, but a search here and review of Marcot left me unsure about the official twist for the 56-50 round.

Would someone please share their knowledge on BOTH the twist rate and bullet, not ctg, OAL and their sources.

Many thanks,

Kevin

The twist rate in my 3 groove original 1865 Burncide Spencer is 1 in 34 inches ,I do not have a 1865 Spencer original on hand at the momet to mearsure but from memory(failing fast) the twist rate is around 1 in 36 or 1 in 38.Original bullet lenths are all over the place but genrally around .775 to ,800+,all these bullets except the Winchester 56-50,56-52 have pointed noses so a flat nose bullet of the same lenth will be heavier, but I have found the longer .775+ bullets to work the best for me in the original unalterd 1865 Spencers

Thanks so much, Herbert.  Glad to have your input.  Regards, Kevin.
