Hey Pard's,

Ok, this may not be the forum, but it was just too much fun not to share ...

For Christmas, I got the girls (I have 4 daughters) a few BB Guns to teach them to shoot. I then set up a range in the basement for them to "plink" until their hearts content. They (and me) have been having so much fun I had to share. If anyone is looking for an inexpensive and fun project, here you go.

I took a box and filled it with old clothes (destined for the Good Will)
I put the box on a rolling cart I had lying around
I bolted an old carpet remnant to the front to absorb misses
I left a little space in front of the box to set some old soda cans ...
Plink and enjoy until your hearts content !!!!

As a note, I could not find too many "cowboy" bb guns (other than the Red Rider) I ended up finding this Luger from Umarex in Germany. All steel with real weight and way too much fun.

I will post pictures in a bit, have to down-size them to upload.

Very nice. I just bought my daughter one of those pink beasts and we have a blast in our backyard. Keep them shooting till the springs brakes ;D Im waiting for my so to get a little older so he start enjoying it too. He's only 2 at the moment and for now. Keep up the good work!

Thanks,

Living in Illinois, we have some draconian folks. I live in a town that has an ordinance on the books that I can't shoot a BB gun outside! Ok to shoot inside per the local PD, but not outside for the safety of my neighbors.

Same town that hosts the county fairgrounds and then passes an ordinance banning "Gun Shows" so the CADA antique gun show that was here for years, now has to find another home in another county. Instead of driving a block to go to the show, I have to drive 1.5 hrs :-(

One of the many reasons I am thinking of moving the company I manage to Texas this summer.

Maybe you should stop that Hargrave...You'll deplete the world's fun reserves. :P ;D

I'm a 4H Rifle, Shotgun, and Pistol instructor.  We start most of the kids out on BB.  Daisy makes a target BB gun that looks like a Red Ryder, but you load from the muzzle for under $150.00.  Look up NRA BB gun targets, you should find some to print.  Matches are shot at 5 meters.  The National matches are (more or less) at Daisy.  The kids shoot Prone, Standing, Kneeling, and Sitting.

Have fun.

Had a BB gun range at the old house in Morton Grove, IL.   Covered a wall in the basement with loose carpet, tacked at the top.   Left a roll at the bottom to catch the BBs.   Hang stuff from strings for moving targets.   Paper targets can be hung right on the carpet. Lots of fun.  The "Spittin Image" M94 Daisy lever was a great gun.  Had numerous rifles/pistols.  Even a double barreled shotgun type.  Miss those days.

Always had fun with bb guns til I moved to where I am now. The town has an ordinance about even owning one. Seems it is illegal to have one in town period. Supposed to turn it in when moving into town.
