Craftool have taken a lot of stick for the quality of their stamps in the past. I use their stuff and find it's not as bad as some say.

Now there's this new range - Pro. Are there any pards who've bought from this range? I'd be interested in any response.
I need some stitch markers and I see they've got some in the Pro range....

Camano Ridge

I have some of the pro stamps, bevelers, veiners etc. They are not bad at all. They have some new ones that just came out and I am interested in them. However in my opinion they are only worth buying if you have the elite pricing as the retail pricing is pretty much the same as Barry King tools. I would rather buy Barry king at that price. I looked at there pro edge bevelers. I am not sure what they are using to measure, looking at them a #2 looked about the size of my #4 Osborne. When I asked the manager he confirmed what I thought. He also said he was not excited about them.

I haven't used them but got the same word back from my Tandy dealer.
For leather tools I keep an eye out at the following places:
Proleptic - keep an eye out for their big sales of vintage tools

http://usedleathertools.com/ - lot of stamps for under $15.00

Vintage Tools - all kinds of vintage tools not just leather

My favorite - Bruce Johnson - not the cheapest but excellent quality vintage tools from a master leathercraftsman

Their stamps are pretty decent but if something like Barry King is in the same price range, they are definitely better. I did order one of their "Pro" awls and wasn't impressed with it. The haft ain't bad but the blade sucks. My Barry King haft with Douglas blade is infinitely better. As are the vintage tools I've picked up at antique shops.
