We finally had a couple of days of bad weather out west, perfect excuse to stay in and do some stitchin. There is an old gun shop up the road  called Bekeart's. He started his business here in 1849 with 200 Paterson Colt's and 200 Allen Pepperbox revolvers, consigned to him by Spies of New York. This gave me the inspiration to sew up a holster for my Uberti Paterson. I pulled out my copy of Packing Iron and looked in the California pattern section for some ideas. Rattenburn states that only one in ten had a flap cover but sewn-in toe plugs were common. There is a California pattern holster that has a red outline in the book, so I thought I would use that for my decoration. Sewing that little round toe plug in the bottom, I felt like a surgeon! Here are some pictures of the finished product.  JW

That's a good holster for your Patterson, Jack. The red trim is striking. Nice work.

Thanks Marshal, it reminds me of the Batmobile. The best thing about this project, is I learned I can sew in a penny sized toe plug if the need comes up again.   JW
