I have $830 by selling all kinds of stuff and at the brink of ordering my new 1873! I priced out at my local store and he can get me a Uberti short rifle through Benelli for $1149. I think I'm going with a .45LC as the .357 is -27 in backorder. My first question is the price. Is that price fair? Two, is the quality the same since it's coming through Benelli? I usually see Taylor and Co. So I was wonder what was with the deal with Benelli? And lastly, anyone have any suggestions or opinions on the straight stock vs the pistol grip stock? Checkered walnut or without? Thanks! I'm freaking excited about this rifle. :)

I would seriously consider taking a look at Gunbroker or even placing a want ad here or over on CassWire. You  might save yourself a handful of dollars if you are patient.

The list price is $12549.00 so you're getting $100 off list price.  Not bad, but not great, either.

I've been checking out gunbroker and honestly with shipping fees and what a FFL dealer would charge me to have the gun shipped to them I think it would tally over what my local gun store could get it for.  But also, is the gun any different from Benelli than through Cimarron or Taylor & Co? Thanks

Unless they advertise that they did some action work to it they/re all pretty much Uberti copies of the 1873 Winchester.  For you, it makes sense if you want a new rifle.  It would be easier for me to go through Taylor's since they're local to me.  If you don't mind used get one through the classifieds here or on the SASS Wire.

Alright guys I've found some info that has set me straight about the 3 importers of uberti. As my question stated in my thread I was wondering about why my local gun store stated they order through Benelli when the imported companies are Taylor, Cimarron, and Stoger. Well I didn't know Stoger is owned by Benelli. So the gun from my gun store would be Stoger. But I actually am buying from JD Outfitters on Gunbroker. He has 3 of the same model '73's. Two are Cimarron and one is Taylor. He is sending me pictures of all three so I can check out the case hardening pattern on each of them and choose from there. But he also told me there isn't any difference in quality on any of the 3 importers. It's all the same.

I have seen quite a few fellows who got Cimarron rifles and they have all been very pleased with the quality that Cimarron delivers.

Benelli, Beretta, Stoeger, Uberti and several other companies are all owned by the same holding firm.  Getting it "through" Benelli is the same as getting it through Taylor, Cimarron, Stoeger or EMF.  They are all built by Uberti and are all the same.
