I posted this in the "Gunsmith" section, but thought I would try here as well.  Anyone know where I can find end shake bearings for Uberti Schofields?  Thanks.

And you'll get the same answer - what are you trying to describe?

VTI has pretty much any and all spare parts - getting them out of Uberti's another matter, entirely.

End shake bearings are washers that fit inside the cylinder center hole to adjust fore and aft movement of the cylinder.  This is not a Uberti replacement part.

Pettifogger

I have never seen any for the Uberti Schofield and doubt anyone will make any since the gun is fairly unusual and there aren't that many out there.  So, no market for them.  What makes you think you need end shake bushings?  With rounds in the cylinder how much end shake do you have?

Tommy Reb

Pettifogger, looks like about .005" end shake.  Not really excessive and the gun works fine.  However, this gun is one of a pair and the other has no noticable end shake at all.  I would just like to tightened the "loose" one up a bit, if I can find bearings.  I did check a number of shim washer manufacturers but there are no standard sizes that will work.  I may end up making my own from flat shim stock.

I've made shim washers for other guns, not Schofield. I take leaf from old
Set of feeler gauges so I get exact thickness. Put between wood blocks
and drill right size hole, then snip and file outside
Till it fits. Can get less than .001 endshake
