What's your preferred flavor and why?

King Medallion

I use Lymann dies and a Lee Factory Crimp die, and both Winchester and Starline brass. All work perfectly in my Rossi 92, Uberti 66, Colt Saa, Uberti Saa, and 2 Uberti Remington 75's

LEE, all the way. 8)

For brass I have used many types. It is only critical if the neck of the loaded cartridge is too tight.

Over the years I have used nearly every brand of  dies.  For the last decade or so I have bought Lee dies nearly exclusively.  I even use them in my Dillon 550.  I love the lee Factory Crimp dies.

Howdy

Been using a standard RCBS set of dies (not the Cowboy dies) to load 44-40 for years.

I used to prefer Winchester brass because it had the thinnest necks, which gave a little bit of leeway if chambers were tight with larger diameter bullets. But it got real spotty trying to find Winchester 44-40, so I have been using Starline for the last couple of years.
That's bad business! How long do you think I'd stay in operation if it cost me money every time I pulled a job? If he'd pay me that much to stop robbing him, I'd stop robbing him.

Ya probably inherited every penny ya got!

The Swede

Used LEE for .44-40, and .45 Colt. With my new Dillon 550B I am using Redding dies (.44-40) with a Lee expander die, and a Lee Factory crimp die. Winchester, and Starline brass.

I tried Lee dies and had no success with them, changed to RCBS and had limited success with them I now use a combnation of RCBS and Lee with a Lee Factory Crimp and that seems to work for me.  My rifle does not like the Winchester brass so for it I use Starline, Remington, Mag Tec those perform well in the rifle, I use the Winchesters in the pistols, shot a few clean matches with this combnation.

I only shoot to support my reloading habit.

Cliff Fendley

I'm normally a big fan of Lee Dies but the 44wcf is one of the few exceptions. With it I have found the RCBS cowboy dies are best. I cant say for sure why they work better and make better rounds but they just do.

I do use the Lee factory crimp die for my smokeless load crimps.

+1, except I'm still using Winchester brass.

Well, Midway had Starline brass in stock, so I ordered some, along with the Lee dies and their factory crimp die. I plan to run mostly black powder, and hope the Lee dies work for me.
