I recently picked up a Cattleman in .45 LC with a 4/5/8" barrel. I really like the gun but i am having frequent misfires with it. The mainspring seems to be a bit weak to me, really easy to cock. I removed the hammer block safety as i thought that might be the problem but it is still doing it. Is there an easy way to put more tension on the spring? Is this a common problem with the Uberti's? Any help would be appreciated.

Probably has a lighten spring and whomever when to far ....

It is a simple fix, 3 screws hold the back strap (two beside the hammer & one on the bottom of the grip )
use good gunsmith screwdriver.
slide the back strap & grips off, there is the main spring held with one screw, remove that a the spring is free.

It might be a OEM spring that was tapered & polished to far and it now a weaker spring ( I seen this done to many times)

Order either a Lee Gunsmithing or Wolf replacement spring or contact VTI they have correctly lighten OEM springs...
simply replace your spring
when planets align...do the deal !

Thanks for the reply. I had the mainspring out today. I may go ahead and order a new one and see if that solves the problem. Take care.

Also check the back of the miss-fired cases for off center firing pin marks.  The gun may be throwing by.

May also check to see if the firng pin is long enough.   I had one that broke the tip off but it broke off far enough back it was obvious.

CAS/SASS shooters who use federal primers, tend to install light main/hammer springs. We who use Winchester or Remington primers use a heavier spring.
If you were to use Federal Primers in your reloads, I doubt you would have this issue.

I would use Federals if i could find any. Seems to be shortage of everything these days. Wonder why? hmmmmm Can't take their guns take their ammo.
