En route back to Canada following a successful foray into the breakaway colonies to the south,  ;).

Overnight bivouac at Grand Island, Nebraska Territory.  Will make two more long forced marches to ensure arrival at home base in good time to permit preparation for immediate heavy action against assorted hostiles and outlaws (local fall two-day CAS shoot this coming weekend) but will report as soon as time permits and my batman's photographic images have been received,

Glad you all had a good safe time.  Meant to drive out but truck had electronic issues.   So, spent the day tracking a short.  Ug.

Where and when will the results be posted?  Wish I could have stayed longer but fidgety women are hard to live with and after the few weeks I've had, I don't need the stress. It  is not fun to have to watch and not play.

old barn wood

I am new to this type of shooting looking around reading see where you can use an  03 rifle?

Thanks

Niederlander

That would be the Expansion Era!  I've been shooting an '03 for a 1914 Marine impression.  They work great with cast bullets!

Here ya go, BarnWood, I think you'll see Ned shooting his '03 in this video from last summer, in Nebraska.

Just to clarify what the others have said, an '03 rifle can be used in "Expansion Era" side matches (rather akin to Wild Bunch shooting in SASS) but not in the Main Match events.  For those the rifle and handgun must be of "Victorian" design/issue (1900 or earlier) as more exhaustively detailed here: http://www.cascity.com/forumhall/index.php/topic,17271.0.html

One very notable exception to the general "1900 or earlier" Main Match rifle criterion relates to the Mauser, which must be a Model '96 or earlier, apparently because the Model '98, although developed in the 19th century, saw no extensive use before the 20th century, and was still being produced by the tens of thousands into the 1940's .... (Otherwise, GAF events would effectively be opened up to WWI- and WWII-vintage rifles, definitely out of sync with GAF's "Victorian Era" focus.  Of course a Model '98 Mauser is more than acceptable in Expansion Era matches ....)
