Hey, either Fingers or Rattlesnake Jack, thought you might find these interesting.

They are a set of Navy Arms cased set of Upper and Lower Canadian pair of Navy Colts. Figure one of you two ought to get to enjoy them.  ;D

Slowhand Bob

Was Navy Arms ever an actual manufacturer?  If not, wonder who was making these for them at that time?

Slowhand Bob,

It was most probably Uberti ...

$1495 !!  They sure are proud of them!  From what I could see in the pictures the fit and finish wasn't all that great.

Low production numbers, cased sets, consecutive serial numbers, commemorative editions, etc. don't necessarily make guns (or anything else) valuable.

I'm not saying those weren't made by Uberti.  I'm not knowledgable as to when they were making guns and for whom.  But the way there are so many proof stamps visible, they look more like something made by Pietta, or maybe even a third party.  That was my first reaction when I was looking at them.  They just don't look like something that would have left the Uberti factory, unless Uberti's quality control back then was severely lacking.

Anyway, that's just my opinion.

They are Ubertis.  You can see the Uberti logo in the three pictures of the left side of the frame.  The asking price is more than twice what they're worth IMNSHO.

Hey, not a problem, guys. I've already got a cased set of 2nd gen Colts ( that are great shooters) so don't need any more, just thought Finger might be interested because he collects that sort of thing, and Rattlesnake because of his love of anything Canadian. I agree, I think they're overpriced, but not sure what the market would be for something like this.

I'm always interested in unique sets or individual pieces; but only at a reasonable price.  I'd love to have these for something south of $800

Can't argue with you there, Fingers. But if they had been south of $800 then I probably would have bought them myself. ;D Just because they're something different you know. Variety is the spice of life. ;)
