Are Taylor Spencers chambered to .451-.452 size cast bullets?

Thanks,

   Greetings!

I would suggest that you check your bore first. Get a micrometer, a few soft lead balls of .454" diameter, a rubber or wood mallet, and a ramrod, or heavy shotgun cleaning rod. Run an oily patch down your bore; this will help the ball pass through easier. Gently tap or press a ball into your bore, and use just enough force to get it from one end to the other, and let it pop out onto a soft surface.
A measurement of the ball will reveal the extreme dimensions of your bore. Your Carbine should accept a .45 Colt Cartridge loaded with THAT DIAMETER bullet. If you have a shooting buddy that reloads .45 Colt Cartridges using .454" diameter bullets, have him make a couple of "dummy rounds" (No powder or primer), and test them for fit in your Chamber; don't worry about feeding yet, just fit. If the "dummy round" drops in without any help other than gravity, you're OK!
This should help you get started with reloading, if that's your intent; otherwise, use factory .45 Colt cartridges that have a bullet that has a flat point (Remember: Tubular Magazine / NO POINTED Bullets!!).

                     Be Well!
