After reading the article in GOTOW on the late Bob Munden, I watched some of his videos - incredible!

I've been present twice when he was doing his two-aimed-shots on two balloons 8' apart, sounding like one shot. He attempted three and made it on his second attempt.

Does anyone know what kind of load he used in his .45's for his demos?

They are blanks for the trick shooting.

I'm not talking about balloon busting, but when he shoots things like nails, etc.

The videos show him loading lead bullet rounds.

I've heard him say several times he was using Laser Cast bullets. I'm not sure if he loaded them or had somebody supplying him his ammo. My guess is for precision shooting he likely had loads worked up for different guns like many of us do. A friend of mine knew Bob somewhat. I'll try to think to ask next time I see him.

I've never seen him shoot in person, but I've seen videos of him before.  The only "problem" I have with him is that he shoots so fast I can't actually see him shoot!  They need to get one of those National Geographic nature photographers who films hummingbirds in slow motion to film Munden in action.  Then I might be able to see what he does... Just amazing.

Slightly difficult to film a person who has been dead for almost a year..... ::)  Just thought you might like to know.

I was told recently that I'm "livelier than a one-legged man at a butt-kicking contest."    Is that an insult or a compliment?

Octagonal Barrel

I didn't know, thanks for the correction.  But I still wish I could have seen him shoot in slow motion.  His gun work was amazing.

I met him once doing an exhibition at a local car dealership.   I was disappointed the "exhibition" was in a DVD.  He just stood there and visited with people as the DVD played.

Octagonal Barrel

My wish granted.  Thanks for the link.  Even in slow mo he's so fast he's still hard to see.

I see hammers with firing pins.  Ain't no Ruger Vaqueros.  Anyone know what guns he used?

If you do a search on YouTube for Bob Mundon,  you'll find lots of videos.   He even has a channel.  I understand he did his own gunsmithing and worked on guns for others also.  You run across guns advertised as being Bob Mondon prepared.   Guns look to be Colt or Colt clones.

The Trinity Kid

In the stuff I've watched, he always had Colt medallion grips.  Don't especially mean much, but......

I've handled a Ruger Vaquero done up by Munden. Not my cup of tea. I was surprised that it even popped primers. It belonged to a brand inspector and he assured me that it did.

I asked Bob what he would charge to do my Vaquero and I lost interest when he quoted me more than I paid for the gun.

Here is a much longer video about Bob Mundon.  The second half shows him working over a Colt single action.
