Seth; For your loads for steel knock downs try dropping the powder a bit to tighten patterns.  I found that a pattern that covers a one foot circle at 15 yards is about right, but do pattern your loads to suit your needs.

Yeah.  I've never taken the time to actually pattern any of these loads.  Years ago, when all I had access to was a public range, they wouldn't let me shoot the gun on any line where I could get the target close enough to simulate CAS target distances to see what the patterns looked like.  I wanted to use the pistol range and they said "No.".  Don't know why.  I brought my own target stand and targets.  And I was willing to wait until there was no one else on the line so I didn't scare the sh!t out of them.  Anyway...

But I'm a member of a private range now.  I should check the pattern on some loads.  Could be I can reduce powder or shot.

I believe the most popular load for SASS is the Winchester Low Noise-Low Recoil (formerly know as "FeatherLites") These are usually catalogued as AA12FL8. Haven't bought any in awhile, so I'm not sure about availability lately. There are some similar loadings by Remington and other manufacturers.
