Well, I finally found a Henry Nettleton that I could afford. It is used and has been fired and the previous owner wasn't too careful about not leaving a turn line. According to the previous owner it hasn't been fired more than a hand full of cartridges and I believe him. He even sent me the original packing slip when the revolver was shipped from USFA in late 2004. I am not sure how to tell for certain but I believe this is a USA parts gun. Although it has the pinched rear sight and tapered front sight I believe that is because it is a Nettleton model. I believe the cylinder, frame, and ejector shroud are all USA made. I am certain the loading gate on the frame is USA. The hammer appears to perhaps be a cast one because of the checkering on the spur looks as though it was cast and not cut. I have no idea how you can tell about the grip frame. Anyway I sure like it and am pleased as punch to have discovered it first.

If it left the factory in 2004 then it is an all US made gun.

Capt. John, I sort of thought that but didn't know for certain. I have tried to learn some things to look for if I don't know for sure since I don't know when the use of foreign parts ceased and the manufacturer of USA parts began. I just don't know enough about USFA history. My interest in them only began in the last 10 years or less. Up until I purchased my first one about 7 or 8 years ago my interest was mainly in single shot big bore rifles. I really didn't pay much attention to hand guns although I have always had a few.

2001 is generally accepted as the year that USFA was able to make their "all US made" claim.
