In keeping with the theme of the old west, I'd like to treat myself to a leather duster. My trouble is, I am 6'5" tall and cannot so far found a retailer with one to fit my tall frame. Guidance appreciated. Don

What you actually want is a Range Coat, a Duster was a light linden or
cotton cover to keep your clothing clean while wearing your nicer clothing.
Yes, I do have more facial hair now.

Allstate Leather has them in Black and Brown.

Good prices if you like the style and their stuff is high quality.
I used to sell it.

Because a long leather coat is not a duster. And no, I won't stay here and debate this with you. You have never been wrong, just ask you.

Well, Shotgun I do a lot of research. I enjoy filling the old gourd with important and unimportant information. Kinda of a jack of all trades and master of none. If I am not informed about the subject I will stay out of the fracas.

The "duster" is a subjective term used to describe the long coats of the 19th century.

"A duster is a light, loose-fitting long coat. The original dusters were full-length, light-colored canvas or linen coats worn by horsemen to protect their clothing from trail dust. Dusters intended for riding may have features such as a buttonable rear slit and leg straps to hold the flaps in place. For better protection against rain, dusters were made from oilcloth and later from waxed cotton.

From my point of view, any garment faithfully patterned from the duster of the past could be called a duster. If you would not prefer to call it a duster, then that is OK.

You have a great day, Shotgun.
