I've loaded Lyman's 210 grain round nose for years now.  I use an overall length of 3.062", and I've never had a failure to feed with my Krag, and I don't think Jerry has either.  I use a load of 13 grains of Trail Boss for steel targets, and I've never had an issue with my loads failing to take down a target.  Just a real user-friendly load.

Hi

Which bullet hardness?  Linotype or Heat Treated Alloy?

Thanks

Niederlander

If I'm using the Trail Boss load, wheel weights seem to be hard enough.  Otherwise I'll mix nine pounds of wheel weights with one pound of fifty-fifty solder.  I've never had a leading problem with them.

Good news and Bad news.

The good news is the gun shop owner finally answered his phone today. The bad news is he consigned all the Krags to Rock Island Auctions.

If you sent me money I will send it back today. If you planned on sending me money please hold on to it.

Sorry for getting everyone excited for nothing.  :'( :'( :'( :'(

As the day wears on and my frustration grows I just want to express how disappointed I am. My wife took enough money out of the bank to buy all 20 Krags. Now there is no deal.

The guy tells me he will get more. We will wait and see.

So he says... but he is a flake. Next time he says he gets some I will see if I can get him to COMMIT to the sale.

I had enough cash in hand to buy all 20 and I was ready to go as soon as he returned my call. How disappointing!

If he gets more we need to be ready to buy them on the spot.  I'm in if he comes up with any more.  I'll throw the money back in the bank earmarked for this project so It will be there when you call for it.  You'll need to cash my check as well as it was a bank check made out to you.

Thanks for thinking of the rest of us.

Sounds to me like a classic case of someone's greed overcoming their ethics.  As far as getting more of them, I sort of doubt any VFW ever HAD more than twenty.  Besides, if he backed out on a deal once, why would I think he'd have developed any more character in the interval?
