Well my Grand pappy was a lot of *%$#^%&* things, but he was wise in spite of it.  He always told his kids and grand kids, "When ya accepts defeat, you will be defeated.  Too many folks now days believe we are seeing the end of the cowboy way and accept defeat.

If each of us old folks just took 2 young ones and taught them the cowboy way. think how many would be walking that path in 10 years.  Youth programs are the future, be them organized or done by individuals.

Start the young ones out shooting lever action rifles, mule hammer shotguns and single action revolvers and they will never lose the taste.

Good job Dusty and Reece will never forget that Red Ryder.

Love the picture, I am not on here much anymore but for all that know me, I have 5 grandchildren.  My youngest is 3 1/2 years old.
His mother was having problems with critters in her garden, when she said I am not sure I could hit that ground hog with my 38. Nick pipes up and says, "hey Mom try your 22 then."
Cowboy way and guns are just part of our life here. I have the privelege of having all three of my girls and their husbands with gun permits currently. Am I a proud Mom or what? Christopher has moved to Minnesota and is working on getting his also.
Teach those kids the safety tips and not to be afraid but have much respect for the firearms.
As always
