just got my new tool from Leather Wrangler's in New Mexico today. I ordered it from Paul Zalesak(owner) on 12 Aug 13, shipped on 13 Aug 13.

Paul shipped it priority 2 day mail and did not charge me extra for faster shipping.
He got it to me in time for my class this weekend at tandy leather.
Leather Wrangler has great customer service.
the tool i purchased is a "Al Gould Special" SK-3 Swivel Knife. 3/8 barrel, 1/4"straight blade. The swivel knife can be adjusted for just about everyone's taste.
the barrel is heavy knurled for a rough feel, which gives my fingers a better griping surface.
Paul advertises the blade stays sharp longer than any other swivel knife out there.
I haven't used any sharp blades other than the sk-3 blade so i can't confirm or deny that statement.
All I know is this swivel knife feels good in my hands which is why i purchased the 1/2" barrel last year at the pendleton trade show.
I wanted to try another size of swivel knife so I ordered this one.

That looks like a good swivel knife. It's good to have both 1/2" and 3/8" ones. Looking forward to seeing your work with this one.

So am I, Marshall.
Hopefully the class I'm taking will allow me some swivel knife time.
The class is on developing patterns.
Not 100% sure what this is going to incompass, but its a class to take.
Tandy doesnt get many good classes so when they show up I figure out how to afford the class.

Dang! A quarter inch blade, you ought to be able to carve dots with that one, really small dots.
I will no longer respond to the rants of the small minded that want to sling mud rather than discuss in an adult manner.
