"Forever" Logon ?

Howdy,

Not being overly computer literate, I have a question. If I choose the "forever" logon choice for the forum, what exactly happens? Does my being logged on, even when I'm not at the forum slow things down for other users who are on the forum? Does it slow me down, when I'm not on this forum? Or does it just mean the forum somehow recognizes me when I'm at this site, so I don't have to sign in?

Thanks for the reply. I broke down and tried it-no smoke shot out if the computer or anything . . . Guess I'll just leave it that way. I had thought it might be rude computer ettiquete, but when the Marshal offers it as an option, it made me think it must be OK.

It don't have no effect on on your computer at all, you just don't have to login/on every time you visit. If you ever delete your 'cookies' you will have to login/on and click on 'forever' again and you will be good ta go.....

I was punched in as "forever" & it was until jus' this week. 
Now I have to re-log dang near ever' time I come here.
