How close was that whirling cloud to Camp Pitspiter yesterday?  What I've seen so far said Comstock area, but minimal damage, I hope the shower is still intact. ;)

Well I haven't been up on the hill yet so I don't know yet if it got busted up or not. At the farmstead we had some wind, a little hail, and a lot of rain (more than we had all last year combined) The closest "whirling cloud" (Apparently there were 3 in the area) was about 3-5 miles away.

Could have been a good photo shoot.   ;D  I talked to my chaser friend yesterday morning, he was in Witchata KS about to head west and maybe south, I think he'd of done better around here and would have used less gas. ::)

I got up there this evening and everything is ok. Grass looks great. Quite a change from last year.

My friend did decide to go north that day, he said he got some good non-tornatic pictures up there that day.

With the increasing intensity and frequency of the whirlwinds there, I would highly suggest an investment in a backhoe  and reinforced concrete culvert.
there were good reasons our prairie ancestors dug storm cellars.
