Hey guys.  New to the group and new Spencer owner.  The serial number of my gun is 15904.  I was hoping someone could help me with the history of the carbine.

Thanks,

Neil

Neil,

Sent you an Email with serial # information.

I already checked on your Spencer serial # and my best "guestimate" is that your Spencer Carbine may have been issued to a member of Company K of the 11th Michigan Volunteer Cavalry on November 14, 1864.  The serial # information for Spencers is very incomplete and Spencers were issued to Civil War units in no special sequence of numbers.  Many of the serial #s below and above your 15904 were issued to the same unit as above, so it's a pretty good "guestimate" that your Spencer Carbine went to the same unit.

Hi,

I'm looking at purchasing an 1860 Spencer Rifle S/N 2903.  Any idea which unit would have been issued this gun??
Also curious about 1860 carbine #11624, which I already own.

Any help is appeciated.  Thx in advance!
