Looking at pitchy's post about his 76 has got me wanting one,  you know how this sickness goes.

Are the 76's at CDNN good, junk or what. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

I was really happy with the fit and finish on mine, it was pretty stiff but after a cleaning and oiling and lightening a couple springs it is a slick rifle.
I didn`t like the rear sight it came with, a ladder type so changed it out for a buckhorn type.
I don`t know what year mine was made, it has the Florida company name on the barrel.

I have purchased 2 1876s from CDNN, a 45-60 a few years ago and a 45-75 last September.  The only problem I had with the first one was the front sight blade was loose.  Not a big deal as I had a hard time seeing it and replaced it with a Lyman Globe front sight.  The action is stiff out of the box but smoothed out a fair amount with use.

The second one the fit of the butt plate to wood has a bit of a gap but I'm fine with it.  I bought it to shoot and for the money am happy.  The action is also stiff and I haven't shot it much yet.  The chamber (45-75) based on measurement from fired brass is the early Uberti over sized one.  This I don't mind as I can fit more powder in the case and get higher velocities.

For my money and use they are great guns.
