WELL DONE!!!

Would you be interested in an appointment as the GAF Signal Officer and continue this excellent work?

I'd like to see some Department updates as well.

US Scout
GAF, Commanding

General,  I think I would like to hold off on any change of asingment right now.  I am just recently in the "chief of Scouts" post here in the Dept of the Platte and hope to promote GAF through this position into a more active presence in this area.  If we can find a spot wiht side matches at a couple of clubs or a stand alone event, then I feel I could move on.  I hope to talk with our Dept command more about this in the comming weeks and see what thier views are.

I do apprieciate all  the support.

General,
I have yet to hear anything  anything more from the dept command.
I would be willing to continue this newsletter endevor and perhaps a facebook group as Signal Officer for the GAF, with your approval Sir.
let me know if there is any particualr direction or scope I am to focus on.

I'm sorry to see that NCOWS seems to have gotten lost in the history of this great organization, but perhaps it is I who am getting the history wrong.  I wasn't there at the very beginning and the formation, I'm only #98.

Not trying to dispute or pick a fight.  I know that there are a small few who don't like NCOWS or our participation in the group.  I'm thinking that certainly some of the shoot and/or safety regs came from there, and certainly a lot of the "authenticity" ideas.

YMMV

SHB,

I, in no, way meant to slight NCOWS After all, I was an NCOWS member long before I was a SASS member. I believe that ALL the shooting organizations should stand shoulder to shoulder and work together to support the shooting sports.

Perhaps I should have said, "a bunch of CAS shooters" instead of "a bunch of SASS shooters." My intentions were to show how far the organization has come in a realitively short time.

Col. Pitspitr, I understand.  And I agree about all standing together.  I probably shouldn't have mentioned the whole thing at all, as I did NOT mean to make you feel bad ... As I'm sure you know, there would hardly be any CAS organizations if SASS hadn't broken trail, so to speak.

I didn't realize I Had excluded NCOWS form the history either.   True,  the authenticity is more NCOWS than SASS but I believe GAF is more tolerating.  I do know that many of the Musters have been held at NCOWS ranges.
I do plan on more dispatch reports and maybe this is a good article topic.   In fact if anyone has A half page or  so that they would like to share on more GAF history or news, I would be Happy to include it.

Editors note:        I must apologize to all. I haven't been able to keep up with my hopes of putting out a new issue every few months.  I have decided to put up a couple stories at a time as I compile them.  I must give credit to CASCity.com posters for most of the writing.  I just put it together or edit to fit in this format.  My hope is that members will print these PDF pages out and share them with there fellow local members and potential recruits.

Carry on:  Bvt. Maj.Bow View.

Here is the latest.
