I bought this Spencer several years ago.  I do not shoot 45 scho so I did not have any ammo. I keep telling my self I m going to get some and try this bad boy out but so far I have not.  If was shot less than a box full before I got it.  I have been reading some of the posts on here and it look like somethings should be done to these gus prior to shooting.  I am by no means a gunsmith. Is there a guy who specializes on spencers, new ones ?  Are there any videos that show what needs done?
Thanks WW

Wild Willi,

Before you start tampering with that .45 Schofield Spencer, do yourself a favor and buy a box of Ten-X .45 Schofield cartridges and try 'er out and see if you have any problems with her.

My Schofield Spencer shot pretty well out of the box . . . oiled her, especially the magazine and spring and breechblock areas, and checked for rough spots in the metal that might make feeding and ejecting a problem, but found none.

Shoot her first and ask questions later.
