My 1866 carbine replica was shooting dead center all morning...then, abruptly, it wasn't. Suddenly I couldn't make a shot to save my life. And it happened between one shot and another. One shot was dead on...the next shot went who knows where. It looks like the screw that holds the front sight barrel band together broke off inside. So a trip to the gunsmith will be in order

Sounds like you have a screw loose.   ;D

Finally snapped hey?

I have an early Uberti 1866 and it was stuffed in with my other gear when I went for a cowboy shoot. It has the foresight and front barrel band as a unit. I waited in line at the first scenario, loaded up under supervision, walked on and staged the rifle as directed. When the buzzer sounded, I scooped up the rifle and lined her up as I cycled the lever. As I looked down at the sights, I noticed that they were laying over about 120degrees off line! They had been moved in transit. I reached forward, twisted the barrel band and mag tube into what looked like the right position and started shooting, worked ok. I eyeball it every time now though before going on, haha!
All my cowboy gun's calibres start with a 4! It's gotta be big bore and whomp some!
