On my Chappy the magazine tube hanger is loose in the dovetail, is it supposed to be that way ?

Pitchy - The mag tube hanger should be snug in the dovetail. Keep in mind it is a rotary dovetail and must be turned to remove it. Once it is removed it can be placed on a mandrel of the same diameter as the mag tube and lightly peen the base to slightly stretch it to make it tighter in the dovetail. --------------------------- GeezerD

Got the hanger tight, the dove tail was kinda curled up on the edges so hammered it down flat again and the hanger tightened nicely.
The other poor fit is the screw that goes through the the slot in the tube. It doesn`t fit the slot very good and the treads leave a little to be disired.
Put some blue lock tight on the threads and reinstalled.
Recon the fix for that is to drill bigger and re tap.

Pitchy - The screw that Chapperal uses for the mag tube is a 6-48 thread. When I assembled my rifle, I chased the screw thread with a 6-48 die and then inserted the pin end of the screw into the magazine band on the opposite side from the threads. That holds the magazine band and tube in alignment so you can run a 6-48 tap in from the other side a few turns, just enough to secure the screw.
