76 in Lonesome Dove ???

I was watching LD the other night and think I spotted a 76 . The scene is when Jake has the mesquite thorn in his thumb . If you look there is a 3/4 magazine 76 in the back ground . In the past I always thought it was a 73 .

I think your right . I guess I was just wishing . That is one of my favorite movies .

Thanks for posting the picture . How long did you work on the Lonesome Dove set , when they were filming it did anyone think it would go that far .

I was looking at the half tube Magazine .  :-\

IMFADB does not list the 1876 is Dusty may be spot on.

Just the Brackettville ( Lonesome Dove set ) ,Del Rio & Alamo Village, Texas locations.

Frankly, we thought it was pretty good, but I think it was the best of all....

we did "Dead Man Walks" & "Comanche Moon" too

They were all excellent . Wish we had another series to watch ? I recently watched LD and Comanche Moon Again .

Boy, so do I!!!  Wish we had another series to watch, that is.  I would have to say IMHO, that the rifle you are seeing in that clip from LD, is an 1873 model.
